Nerd Bear Peview: Curse of Chucky

HE'S BACK! The deviant killing doll has made his return to the big screen, and not where they left off in the Child's Play trilogy, but as a remake. I was overjoyed to hear that they have decided to give Chucky a new realistic look, and before fans get at me, I know that they didn't have the same technology in the past films as they do today, but over the years, they stayed with the same concept and look even in The Seed of Chucky. Now that the director (Don Mancini) and his crew have chosen a more child-like look for Chucky, it gives him a new dimension that couldn't be shown well in the last few movies. Don't get me wrong. I still have my Child's Play movies; they are classics and have developed a cult following, but it was just nice to see a bolder aspect added to the Chucky franchise.

Curse Of Chucky Storyline:   Nica, a young woman forced to a wheelchair since birth, has to regroup her sister, Barb and her brother-in-law, Ian, for a funeral after the death of her mother. While dealing with Barb, Ian, along with their 5-year-old daughter, Alice, Nica receives an odd package - a creepy doll. After people start showing up dead, the fearless Nica soon suspects that the creepy doll is much more than just a "doll."

Information: Curse of Chucky was announced in June 2012. It will be written and directed by Don Mancini and will begin shooting in Winnipeg, Canada in September 2013. It will be the first movie in the Child’s Play series to go Direct-to-DVD.
