Hershel, the heart of the series after Dale died, and the Governor, the dark, malignant force that has plagued our heroes since last season, both reached the end of their storylines. Who will you miss more — Hershel or the Governor? (Let's just say, I'm not going to be able to see Santa this holiday season in the same way. Only Scott Wilson as Hershel and Richard Attenborough as Kris Kringle can pull off that short, sophisticated white-haired beard so well.)

The Dubious Connection Between Interracial and Same Sex Marriage

It appears that the purpose of marriage, whether you are looking at mid twentieth century marriage documents or 3000 year old Egyptian marital laws, has always been to establish a practical legal structure with which to manage the physical and emotional property of human beings at least from the position of government. The other role of marriage as an affirmation of mutual love is no less important and in our society one cannot exist without the other if it wants to be taken seriously. In the past, religion has been utilized by government as a convenient overlay strategically manipulated to impose additional moral regulations on top of the basic covenant of legal interdependence which we know as a civil marriage contract. In the past church and state conspired to invalidate those who would not legally marry and to intimidate married couples from dissolving their nuptial bliss.

The 14 Habits of Highly Miserable People

Most of us claim we want to be happy—to have meaningful lives, enjoy ourselves, experience fulfillment, and share love and friendship with other people and maybe other species, like dogs, cats, birds, and whatnot. Strangely enough, however, some people act as if they just want to be miserable, and they succeed remarkably at inviting misery into their lives, even though they get little apparent benefit from it, since being miserable doesn’t help them find lovers and friends, get better jobs, make more money, or go on more interesting vacations. Why do they do this? After perusing the output of some of the finest brains in the therapy profession, I’ve come to the conclusion that misery is an art form, and the satisfaction people seem to find in it reflects the creative effort required to cultivate it. In other words, when your living conditions are stable, peaceful, and prosperous—no civil wars raging in your streets, no mass hunger, no epidemic disease, no vexation from poverty—making yourself miserable is a craft all its own, requiring imagination, vision, and ingenuity. It can even give life a distinctive meaning.

Opening a Twenty-First Century Kind of Love

INSURANCE POLICIES FOR THE NUPTIALLY BLIND…
The Internet, global culture, and the unique hallmarks of the twenty-first century have opened a new chapter on the ways men love

By David Vollin

We may never know why men cheat on their lover’s, it is enough to know that they have done so since the beginning of all reckoning which leads to the sober conclusion that there will be no eminent end to this long standing tradition. It may be more helpful to understand why they are infamously successful in any event. So allow me to begin this discourse by asking you, the reader, to answer one simple question: “What is the one thing all cheaters have in common?” Take 30 seconds to think before answering and those who wish to pour a cocktail before responding get extra time as follows:

M3 The Walking Dead Review - SE4: EP5 "Internment"

"Internment" is all about how Hershel copes with his changing surroundings, how he finds the strength to keep on living, helping, and fighting in a world where he is forced to kill or be killed. In trying to save Glenn's life and keep his daughter in good spirits, he shows he might be the strongest in the group. Sometimes even saving someone you love isn't enough to keep the pain and sadness away. Carl and Rick bong over machine gun fire and the Governor returns.

M3 The Walking Dead Recap - SE4: EP5 "Internment"

Kevin McFarland reviews the latest episode of AMC's lumbering, flesh-chomping, zombie-infested near future. More episode recaps are in Boing Boing's "The Walking Dead" archives.

It takes an episode like “Internment” to make me realize again that The Walking Deadhas many different narrative approaches at its disposal. Oftentimes I get caught up in the cast of characters so much that I want the show to cut between every plotline as it progresses in equal measure, but that’s not as valuable of a tool. This is a cross-cutting technique that I remember best from watching Lost, when plots would drift in and out of significance, or the show would leave on a cliffhanger and cut away to something else in a different location occurring in parallel to other events for an episode, such as catching up with another group of survivors.

M3 Hangout Live: Blow Jobs For Jesus

M3 Hangout: November 12, 2013
We're back after a short break talking about the Kevin Terry saga. The gospel singer's sex tape makes it's way around the internet it seems all of us have an opinion about it. Would this tape be the end of a career if it were not a christian audience who listened to his music? Was it a good blow job, or was he just doing too much? Would you have preferred a TD Jakes sex tape?

M3 Black Bear Trailer Review: Captain America The Winter Soilder

I been waiting to see the trailer of this movie for awhile now. Because Captain America needed a big comeback from the last movie, don't get me wrong the last movie was okay, but from the comic and fans aspect it was an disaster. I'm not gonna go into the long list of problems from the last movie because you can see the movie yourself. But I do have one good thing about the last movie it was something different from the back to back remakes of Superman,Batman and Xmen movies we as superhero fans wanted to see other superheros hit the movie screen spotlight and even though the first Captain America movie was okay. It did lay down the foundation for the new captain America movie the winter soilder. and the trailer blew me the fuck away with its graphic design which is a given, but they really amped up the action and the acting. The trailer is a good start to bring back the Captain America fans but hopefully the movie will make them want to stay

M3 The Walking Dead Review - SE4: EP4 "Indifference"

Cecil and Malcolm talk about  "The Walking Dead" Season 4 episode 4 "Indifference" From the last episode we know Carol was the one who killed Karen and David, but why was she so damn cold about it? At the end of the episode Rick asked her to leave, but it was hard to believe that this character we've come to love has gone so far off the deep end that rick had to ask her to go.

M3 The Walking Dead Recap - SE4: EP4 "Indifference"

By Terri Schwartz

The reveal in "The Walking Dead"Season 4 episode "Indifference" that Carol was the one who killed Karen and David didn't come as much of a surprise, but it was hard to believe that this character fans have come to love had strayed so far from a normal human outlook on life. A constant theme in Season 4 is the way that the zombie apocalypse has forced the characters on "The Walking Dead" to change, and for Carol it turned her into a hard person who is willing to sacrifice anything to keep those around her safe.

Black Bear Movie Review: 12 Years A Slave

THE STORY TOLD AS HOLLYWOOD COULD NEVER TELL
by David Vollin

The closing of the film, “12 YEARS A SLAVE”, was not unlike both the tacit closing of a casket and the emotionally noisome deliverance of a newborn child in the same broad and timeless instant. The dread and beauty each so substantially and absolutely real, administered a final yet potentially unstable neutralizing effect upon the psyche of each and every person emerging from the last black and white flickers of text as the house lights mustered themselves to amber hues and then sought to revivify our confidence in those random objects which define the tangible world we have come to know as our own. Watching the film I felt as if I had been washed by and immersed in a rare and sacred ablution, as if I had ingested its clairvoyant potion enabling me to spectate whilst the fell and glorious history of a man named Solomon Northup and his troubled times re-lived their most intimate moments before me; and so by this voluminous liquid river of a film I was thus enchanted…

M3 Black Bear Trailer Review: I Frankenstein

A new era of monster has arrived on the big screen, Frankenstein. A story that have been told and passed down for generation to generation about a mad scientist that wanted to created a monster from the flesh of deceased men and women. Director Stuart Beattie has taken on a significant challenge with this infamous monster story, but I'm glad he did its time to tell a new story that does not involve vampires or werewolves in everything. When I first looked at the trailer I was a little disappointed, not because the trailer was bad, but i wanted them to tell the story that we grew up with and read about, besides that the trailer looked wonderful and the graphics design looked great but no big wow factor people expect, but i will hold judgements until i see the movie in theaters and do a real detailed black bear review.
